The experience

Silence. Pure air. Freedom.

Imagine hanging above a sleeping volcano, carried by the warm air rising from the summer pastures. No engine, no road: only the breath of the wind in the wing, and a 360° panorama opening up around you.

Herds become dots in the pastures, stone shepherd huts appear in the hollows of the valleys, and the Cantal summits roll by like a relief map. On clear days, your gaze reaches all the way to the Sancy massif.

Golden morning light on the ridges, afternoon thermals, the softness of the evening… Every flight is unique. This is not just a paragliding ride: it is Cantal as the vultures see it.

The association's tandem pilot

Mayeul, a pro who takes his time

Holder of a professional tandem pilot diploma with more than 2,500 flying hours, Mayeul flies tandem professionally in winter. In summer, he comes back to Cantal for one reason: to share his passion.

No conveyor-belt flights here. He picks the right site and the right moment, takes the time to reassure you, and makes every minute in the air your own.

Depending on the day, other pilots of the association who hold the French federation tandem qualification also fly passengers.

Where do we fly?

Five sites among the volcanoes

The site is chosen on the day, according to the wind and the light: the ridges of Puy Mary, a Grand Site de France, Plomb du Cantal, the wild Brezons valley, Puy Gros or Saint-Clément. Each one shows another face of the volcanoes.

Frequently asked questions

Before take-off

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes suited to the weather. Even if it is hot below, the air is cooler at altitude. Closed shoes are compulsory (trainers or hiking boots); trousers and a windbreaker are recommended, plus sunglasses to enjoy the view.

I am afraid of heights. Is that a problem?

No. Vertigo only appears when you are physically connected to the ground, at the edge of a cliff for instance. Once in the air it disappears, leaving a very peaceful gliding sensation.

How old do you need to be?

From 5 years old, with no upper age limit. Written parental consent is required for minors. You just need to be able to run a few steps at take-off.

Do I need experience? Is it dangerous?

No experience is needed: in a tandem, the pilot handles the whole flight. The site and the time of day are chosen according to the conditions so you can fly with peace of mind.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If the weather is not suitable, the flight is postponed at no cost. Your pilot gets in touch the day before to confirm.

Is there a weight limit?

140 kg maximum for the passenger. Please give your weight when you book: it influences the choice of site and time slot.

How do I book and pay?

Through the contact form, WhatsApp or by phone. Payment is made on the day of the flight, by cash, cheque or bank transfer. A deposit may be requested for groups.
